Re: [Everything doTERRA] Mountain rose vs doTerra

I'm not familiar with the brand you speak of but the research I've
done on organic products has left me very skeptical about the term and
standard. I've picked up lots of organic products and read the
ingredients and have seen things that would never in a million years be
considered organic. As an example I have a bottle of organic peppermint
oil. The ingredients are simple, sunflower oil and peppermint. No
explanation as to where the peppermint comes from or how much peppermint
is in it. When you open it up you can smell peppermint but nothing like
doTERRA. I like to use it as an example, put a drop of it on a paper
towel next to a drop of doTERRAs. After a few minutes you can't find
where doTERRA was but the other one is a greasy mess.
doTERRA is an international company and sells its products world
wide. The US is the only country that really focuses on organic, other
countries don't. doTERRAs standards exceed the organic standards in this
country. Because many of the plants are also worldwide gaining organic
labeling would be cost prohibitive. France for example has incredibly
strict standards (again higher than organic) and doTERRA is accepted there.

The rep said that they do not recommend anyone using essential oils internally unless you are under the care of someone who really knows how to use them. If you do choose to use the oils internally, Mountain Rose essential oils can be used that way, but they do not recommend it since they are so potent and can cause toxicity. Also, DoTerra and Young Living (the two brands that say you can use them internally) have been sued in the past by the federal government. So as far as I'm concerned, I should probably avoid using essential oils internally anyway, but if I do need to for making toothpaste, etc. then I just need to make sure it is diluted enough. For topical use, mountain rose oils seem just as strong as doTerra. I want to order the peppermint and try it for a headache and see if it takes it away right away like with doTerra. I guess what appeals to me the most about Mountain Rose essential oils is that it is certified organic, no third party so they get them directly from different parts of the world (just like doTerra) and they cost half the price.
