Re: [Everything doTERRA] Touching Oil Tops

My  massage therapist says this is a taboo thing to do, however, sometimes it is more convenient to touch the tops and I do it anyway.  The oils are antimicrobial, I honestly don't think it is a problem, but she was taught at school never to do that.

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Young Living Lawsuit

This type of confusion about whether or not the FDA has approved doTERRA's oils being used internally is a good example of how we as IPCs can give people ammunition against doTERRA by repeating claims such as this without being absolutely sure they are true. Although ME is not published by doTERRA, it contains doTERRA's oils and blends exclusively, and doTERRA recommends the book to its consultants, and they in turn make recommendations to the public. Therefore, it could be assumed that doTERRA approved what is contained in that book. People who are looking for some evidence that doTERRA is unethical could point to this and claim that doTERRA's reps are intentionally misleading people. I spent over 25 years working as a paralegal, and I've seen this kind of honest mistake get twisted and used against someone in a lawsuit. If we don't want that to happen here, we need to be mindful and stick to facts. I agree that we should not allow ourselves to focus on this kind of negativity. But we do need to be aware as to how we may be inadvertently feeding into it by passing on information as "fact" when it's not. Now more than ever, we need to be careful about this.

I stand with my statement that we do not get caught up with legal actions that have not even been brought before a judge.

Or Orange, states "enerally recogjozed as safe (GRAS) for human consumption by the FDA (21CFR182.0). That's our role... educate those that don't know and only opinionate.

I think we have to do all we can to demonstrate the highest levels of integrity while this is going on. I'm concerned that this could have a negative impact on the essential oil industry in general. There are many certified aromatherapists, doctors and scientists out there who think we are endangering others by using the oils neat and internally (I've seen a great deal of hostility on the EO University blog about this). If YL calls someone in as an expert witness to testify that we are doing dangerous things (although they are certainly using questionable practices themselves), it could get into the press and we could draw the attention of the FDA and other government agencies. This lawsuit could certainly backfire on YL, but could also end up restricting our freedom to use the oils as we choose.

I disagree Daniel. CPTG is not misleading but a factual statement. Its trademarked just like the name doterra. There is a difference being saying it and saying it and able to back it up. Which they can.

[Everything doTERRA] titanium possible allergy

Hi there. I am hoping someone can help and also hoping Pat will get

what she assumed was "severe eczema or severe contact dermatitis". We

her doing the zendocrine cleanse and I was asking questions and she
said "well, I have been this way every since my surgery." When she
said that something CLICKED. I remembered a friend who had a severe
reaction to titanium (hip replacement) and come to think of it, it
looked just like this. First words out of my mouth were "do you have
titanium in you"? She said yes. I just felt in my spirit that was
it. allergy to titanium. She had one other doctor tell her that a
while back but said there is nothing they can do. So, any suggestions
on if it is a titanium allergy? Her titanium goes from her skull all
the way to her tail bone. Quite a bit of titanium? I was thinking
cilantro on her feet (although I know that is for metal detox, don't

She has tried frankincense, melaleuca, geranium, and lavendar

for about 7 months maybe? Maybe 6. She is cutting back just recently
to see if that had any bearing on it. Thanks,

[Everything doTERRA] new to doTERRA

I have a few questions. First of all I really like the doTERRA oils. Just got my first order and dh said I got a new toy, that's the quietest I've been in a while! Hahaha  Why do some of you call it "protocol" instead of say a "routine"? Why is it recommended for the oils to be put in water that's either in glass or stainless steel? Can we not put them in a plastic glass? I have already copied some of the recipes that have been posted for the summer sensation oils, but does anyone have anymore ideas for them to be used separately? I like to read about them but they're not in the Modern Essentials book. I would especially like some good uses and info on the tangerine. It smells soooo good!
Don't remember who originally posted about the e-book on your love life and eo's but I definitely am interested in that one! Please keep me posted.
Thanks

The people I have take it I tell them since it is a hot oil, put your

[Everything doTERRA] ooking for lyme disease testimonials

Looking for testimonials of people using the oils to treat lyme disease.I would like to hear from people who were first diagnosed and those who are reeling from the different effects of this bacteria.

I have approached our local area support group and was shut down quicklythey revieweda brochure about lyme disease and our oils that one of the doterra IPCs created. The information came from reputible sources and was done in a easy to read format. The information came from a state website. Not sure what the problem is and will find out more. I know the problem is much bigger than just one bacteria being spread by one type of aracnid and the effects may be quite crippling to those impacted by the borrelia bacteria.

What I don't get is that I took the time to track down Dr Hills video on lyme disease - would be great to have a webinar availalble. I did the research and looked up the compounds in the recommended oils that were researched. I provided this to them because this is what they wanted. THEN they decided to only look at the little brochure. Huh?!!!!

Dont have time to upload the research right now but will try to do so in near future.

Thanks everyone!

I have sent you a couple of papers to peruse and maybe get some good information. I would for sure start him on the LLV, but just start with one pill from each bottle for one week and then add one more from each bottle.
I would also recommend the Zendocrine oil topicall over the liver area (really!). Start with this, he is took weak to use too many oils and send him into detox, which would not be good.
Let's add more as he progresses.

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Wegener's Granulomatosis

If she is taking the Zendocrine capsule then have her put the oil on topically on the liver area every day. Better than internally in my opinion. I think you are right on regarding the LLV, also the ATT would be great and the foot soak that pulls heavy metals would also be great. I have attached the foot soak for you.

Hello all,

I need some help.  I have a friend who has tentatively been diagnosed w/ Wegener's Granulomatosis.  Below is a description of the symptoms and treatments.  Can anyone help w/ the natural counterpart and perhaps a protocol that we can start her on so she is able to effectively apply the oils & LLV to help her body stay strong and fight this?  She has tested positive w/ the antibodies for the disease.

Currently she is taking the LLV (regular dose), also using Grapefruit in her water, Geranium over the kidneys, She is taking the Zendocrine supplement, and will start taking the Zendocrine oil in a capsule.  Any other suggestions?  Perhaps a heavy metal dry foot soak, regular ATT's?  Please help.

"Wegener's granulomatosis is a rare disorder in which blood vessels become inflamed, making it hard for blood to flow.

Causes, incidence, and risk factors

Wegener's granulomatosis mainly affects blood vessels in the nose, sinuses, ears, lungs, and kidneys, although other areas may be involved.

The cause is unknown. It is thought to be an autoimmune disorder.

Wegener's granulomatosis is most common in middle-aged adults. It is rare in children, but has been seen in infants as young as 3 months old.

Symptoms

Frequent sinusitis is the most common symptom. Other early symptoms include a fever that continues without an obvious cause, night sweats, fatigue, and a general ill feeling ( malaise).

Chronic ear infections are common. Other upper respiratory symptoms include nose bleeds, pain, and sores around the opening of the nose.

Loss of appetite and weight loss are common. Skin changes are also common, but there is no one typical lesion associated with the disease.

There may be symptoms of kidney disease. The urine may be bloody.

Eye problems develop in many people with Wegener's granulomatosis. The eye problems range from mild conjunctivitis to severe swelling of the eye.

Other symptoms include:

   Chest pain

   Cough, with or without blood

   Joint pain

   Shortness of breath

   Weakness

   Wheezing

Signs and tests

Your doctor may order a blood test that looks for proteins called antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA), which are often found in people with active Wegener's granulomatosis. However, it is not foolproof -- the test may be negative in some patients.

Treatment

Your doctor may suggest treatment with glucocorticoids (such as prednisone) which are given along with other medicines that slow down the immune response.

Medicines used to treat Wegener's granulomatosis include:

   Azathioprine (Imuran)

   Cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan)

   Methotrexate

These medicines may cause serious side effects. You should carefully discuss your treatment plan with your doctor.

Other medicines may be prescribed, including:

Bisphosphonate (Fosamax) to prevent bone loss caused by prednisone

Folic acid or folinic acid (leucovorin) -- if you are taking methotrexate

Trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole to prevent lung infections."

I would be cautious about taking oils internally while breastfeeding. I know a lot of Moms say they do it with no problem, but obviously you have a problem with it, so just use the oils topically for now.

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Young Living Lawsuit

First, doTerra did not write the ME book, it was written and published by Aroma Tools. Also the FDA does not test or approve essential oils. They have no testing standards at this time and this is one of the very things that Dr. Pappas is working on, that we have testing standards for Essential Oils.

I stand with my statement that we do not get caught up with legal actions that have not even been brought before a judge.

You picked a very sensitive area to apply oregano. I imagine he is detoxing and that the skin tags are killing off. Have him drink lots of water with lemon oil to help flush the toxins.  If you have Frankincense start putting it on the affected spots at least twice a day, (if he will let you).

[Everything doTERRA] Re: Lemongrass question

Diluting an oil with FCO will not dilute the smell, from my experience.  Blending it with another oil will help to soften it, or change it to give it a different smell.  So find what blend smells best to you.  Maybe blending with peppermint or the other oils that Sherrie mentioned below.

I second the lemongrass and peppermint combo.  Great for athletic families.  The lemongrass helps to heal tendons/ligaments and is also a pain reliever.  Mixed with a carrier oil is a great pre-workout rub as it helps increase circulation.  Also apply neat for muscle cramps.  It says some people may be sensitive, but I haven't had a problem.  For injury, layer peppermint over the lemongrass for inflammation, pain and to help drive the lemongrass in..  For acute inury you can lightly rub an ice cube over the area to help with inflammation, but the water also helps to push the oils in further.  For long term injury use a very warm, moist compress to encourage circulation to the area and drive the oils deeper.  We love this combination!

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: people on meds interested in oil protocols

I also think they should stay on their meds until they aren't needed any longer unless they are 'elective' type meds. Many rx drugs require tapering off even if it isn't typically indicated. Many require a much slower taper that is recommended by the manufacturer.
An important key to doing this is to learn the symptoms of taking too much of the rx drug and watch for them. For example if we were working on synthroid then we'd watch for shakiness, irriatability, racing heart, etc. if those happen then the amount of rx needs to drop.
Some drugs like acid reflux meds they can just go off and start doTerra. If you didn't know, most internists are taking their patients off them cold turkey because of 'issues'. Drugs that were previously prescribed that you had to take for life now are short term.
Drugs that require a very very slow taper are antidepressants, anti anxiety, sleep meds like Ambien.

I am meeting more people with serious health issues inwhich they take meds daily. They are not interested in stopping meds cold turkey which I agree with. Just wondering how others approach these concerns of switching over to oils totally. thanks in advance.

[Everything doTERRA] Fireworks and the Dogs

Its almost the 4th of July already and my dogs will be going crazy because of the fireworks. Its not to bad the few days before the 4th but on the 4th man they go nuts. I am thinking Serenity or Lavender. Anybody else have any suggestions or testimonials of past years I'd love to hear them. Have a fun and safe 4th of July.

I have been using the oils for a mild (clear fluids) staph infection. Now
are my oils safe for others in the home to use? I got rid of the
fractionated coconut oil, but am wondering if the melaleuca, geranium,
balance, lavender, OnGuard, and frankincense need to be tossed too. Thanks,

yea, 90 days, but they do have a repair department that can fix whatever

What oil or combination of oils would you recommend for Sebaceous
Hyperplasia? It is a skin condition on the face where the sebaceous glands
become enlarged and form small bumps or papules on the cheeks, nose or
forehead. The papules may be cauliflower-shaped and are whitish to
yellowish in color. It affects middle-aged-elderly adults. Have you dealt
with this condition before, and if so, I would appreciate your
recommendation on what oils might help in eliminating these bumps. Thank
you. Posted for Joyce from EverythingEssential.me

Stella that is AWESOME!!! God Bless you!

My daughter was having issues with verbal communication. She read at a 12th
grade level but could not answer the phone. Frankincense has changed our
    lives.

Help!!! My husband has multiple larger skin tags under his arm.... so we
    started using the Oregano on
them almost a week ago..... he's been in so much pain.... we've used
    coconut oil.... lavender makes
it burn more....and then tried lotion with some meleluca in it......coconut
oil seems to help the most.
Well he stopped using the oregano over 24 hours ago.... and the skin tags
    and under arm area is
seeming goo! Woke up this morning and there were multiple stains on the
    sheets. He's very concerned...
I told him he must be detoxing..... I thought maybe he should do the
Oregano in a capsule..... He said
he wished he never started this process! Any advice?

I would say for them to stay on med for serious health issues til their dr
say it is ok to wean off. WIth EO, I am sure the dr will notice improvement
in symptoms and will naturally want to try lowering the dose and the
symptom still improves ( from using EO), the dr will lower the dose. and on.

I have a pom with IBD an autoimmune system flared up by allergic reaction
that almost killed her. We switched to RX diet and discovered that it is
bad too ( contains grains,) but it didnt kill her because the protein in
chicken is broken apart into amino acid, basic enough for the immune system
not to notice. It made me think. Maybe she is allergic to chicken. MANY dog
food out there is made from chicken. I wanted to switch to a better food.
My pom was doing well and surviving on the food but her stool wasnt normal
still. I want to suggest this idea in case you have not tried a food that
has NO chicken ingredients and NO grains. I put Minnie on Acana pacificia
because it has no grains, NO chicken. She is doing very very well, her
stool is finally normal like she has no IBD. However, she has to be on LOW
    dose of presidone.

For skin allergies, when my other dog, NIkki had skin issues before I found
the right diet, I had to shave ( not bald, but number 5 to give her skin
protection from the sun) her to make it easier to bath her often with
special shampoo and to control the allergens her fur captures. You can do
that with special type of shampoo that wont dry out with EO or EO alone.

As for essential oil, I am new too and I wish I knew the answer. I think
before using EO, it is very important to make sure a dog is on a very good
quality food just like making sure humans are eating good diets in
    conjunction to using EO.

Exactly! But people who have not done their research do use the terms
"pyramid" and "MLM" interchangeably. I am not suggesting that anyone get
"caught up" in this way of thinking--just be aware that it's out there so
we can be sure we educate ourselves and that our behavior does not
    propagate the myth.

Rebecca, this is part of the confusion I have found. It's my understanding
that doTERRA has not gotten FDA approval for ANYTHING--at least that's what
Dr. Hill told me when he called me to answer my questions about government
certifications. Yet I have seen the note you mentioned in the Modern
Essentials book. We need to get some definitive answers on this so that we
cannot be accused of making false claims.

I had someone recently express concern about Lavender being an endocrine
disruptor, and the risk of inhibiting androgen levels, and boosting
    estrogen levels.

A quick search brought up this report from the National Institute of Health
    (NIH): http://www.nih.gov/news/pr/jan2007/niehs-31.htm

Should Men be concerned about using Lavender topically and internally?

I myself am a user of Lavender, and know its medicinal uses, but I'm also
male, and am a little concerned.

Anyone know much about this issue?

A family I know are really going through it with health problems at the
moment. The husband had an operatioon for Prostrate Cancer a few months
ago and the son has a melanoma. I received an update this morning and I am
really concerned. They do not have much money and I really would like some
advice on what you would recommend for this family. The following are
taken from the e-mail I received:-

"his melanoma has been cleared after the surgeon took a chunk out of his
back twice. But it was aggresive and he apparently has a 40% chance of
getting one again. He has to wear F50 sun lotion now on all exposed skin
all the time and will see the visiting surgeon again in a few weeks time"

    and

"Ian is worse than ever it seems with the TNF's he's been prescribed and is
waiting to see what they are going to do about it. Also he has developed
pulsating lumps on his veins which are very painful and worrying us sick.
No-one seems to know what they are and the discussion about it all between
various health personnel seems to take for ages. We are constantly playing
the waiting game and he is getting more and more depressed and there seems
to be a black cloud hanging over us",

If anyone has any ideas of what I can recommend for this family then
please, please let me know. I am really worried about them. The wife is
usually so up-beat but she also has health problems and is feeling really
    low at the moment.

    Thank you all.

    Linda

You are a good friend. If I were going to make a suggestion to them I would
start with LLV for Ian, this has made a huge difference for men with
prostate cancer. I would get the young man a bottle of Frankincense to put
under his tongue and on his back where the surgery is. He would also
    benefit from the LLV.
If they are willing to start the program that would be my first
    recommendation.

I second the lemongrass and peppermint combo. Great for athletic families.
The lemongrass helps to heal tendons/ligaments and is also a pain
reliever. Mixed with a carrier oil is a great pre-workout rub as it helps
increase circulation. Also apply neat for muscle cramps. It says some
people may be sensitive, but I haven't had a problem. For injury, layer
peppermint over the lemongrass for inflammation, pain and to help drive the
lemongrass in.. For acute inury you can lightly rub an ice cube over the
area to help with inflammation, but the water also helps to push the oils
in further. For long term injury use a very warm, moist compress to
encourage circulation to the area and drive the oils deeper. We love this
    combination!

We also use Balance everyday on our feet (watch the video on YouTube of
blood samples) and it evened out my female cycle. Solace occasionally
throughout the month helped with hormone headaches. Love Citrus Bliss
diffused or on my wrists for mood enhancement.

Just use the oils and enjoy, they are amazing!

I couldn't wait to get online and share my day's experience. A little over two months ago I made a DECISION on which I took ACTION. I decided that the damaging side effects of the "bucket full" of psychotropic medications I had been prescribed and was administering was NO LONGER WORTH THE RISK. I weaned off of multiple anti-depressants, mood-stabilizers and opiate blockers.. I told my Dr. I had discontinued her prescriptions. Her response, "Oh, so you chose HEALTH." Praise God.
