This may sound crackpot, but a few years ago I had a massage therapist say someone taught her how to "channel" the energies or frequencies of essential oils. She would hold the bottles near my skin and certain ones gave some sort of resonance or signal that showed which ones would be balancing, complimentary, or needed by my body. Conversely, if there was one that wasn't beneficial she would feel a negative to avoid using it. She was quite shy about it and I hesitated to question her more if she didn't want to expound on it. But, I would like to know if anyone is familiar with this aspect of naturopathy. I also remember hearing of a chiropractor who was a kinesiologist and had a similar technique with various substances and supplements that would give feedback on what the body needed.
-- Like I said, some think this is total quackery, so please hold the skepticism or snark at bay. I personally believe that EO's are a very living substance and that there are subtle cues to be learned on how to recognize and apply their goodness. I'm open minded to alternative therapies and practices where our bodies can be their own healers with the right tools.
Thanks,
C. Beard
