[Everything doTERRA] Re: Grapefruit and medications

Dr. Steuer stated that our grapefruit oil does not affect the P450 liver enzyme that deals with breakdown of medications.  I believe he said grapefruit extract does though.

My nurse practitioner has instructed me not to take any essential oils that contain grapefruit because of the interaction with my medications, especially coumadin.  I can use any topically but be careful regarding the internal usage.  My doterra representative has stated that the grapefruit comes from the rind and I should not have any issues. Anyone else having to watch the essential oils because of medication reactions?
