Re: [Everything doTERRA] ISO homemade makeup remover and/or toner recipes

I've been wanting to buy some jojoba oil.  I'll try that eventually.

Is it not a good idea to mix cider vinegar with witch hazel?

You are right that it is common for oily skin peeps to over-dry and make the problem worse.  I was one of those people when I was younger.  I never used moisturizer because I didn't think I should.  I learned the hard way when I got older and my skin was even fussier that neglecting to moisturize does make the oil glands over-compensate and my skin is even oilier.  So, I do use moisturizer daily and I am more careful about products that over-dry.  I just don't like any products that feel greasy--it sounds weird, but it makes me feel claustrophobic!  I can't even wear foundation on my face or I feel like I can't breathe!

I actually use either the diluted ACV OR the witch hazel on it's own, I don't mix them.   I don't add anything to mine, ACV has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, so I haven't found the need to add the oils to it.  I would use frankincense or melaleuca topically on trouble spots, I think it would work more efficiently that way.

If you have really oily skin, you may be drying it out by using too much on it. I'm not very well versed on skin issues, but I have heard that skin that is overly oily, tends to be that way because products used are too drying so the body produces more oils. I don't know for sure though, maybe look into it some more.  I like the suggestion of Jojoba oil!
