[Everything doTERRA] Do oils break down during the "soapification" process?

I met a woman who makes soap and wants to use essential oils in her
products. She is concerned about whether the oils will break down
during the soapification process of 6-8 weeks of curing in lye and
lard. I emailed an inquiry via the doterra.com website two weeks ago
but have not gotten answer. Any feedback?
