I completely understand how you feel, I felt the same way when I first joined a direct sales company, but I was amazed at what I found. I found that there are a number of things that we can do to overcome the stigma of "oh, you're in one of THOSE companies." One of which is reading!

Now, as much as this is going to sound like a commercial which I don't want, I have something to recommend for you to do. I created a group on Facebook about one month ago and it's called Essential Oil Scholars Monthly. It's essentially a book-of-the-month club! I choose one book per month from my own library and from suggestions of others and the people in the group read that book. Plus some discussions and/or thought questions will be posted throughout the month corresponding to the reading in that month's book. The books will help us with personal growth as well as business success (which also comes from personal growth), plus we're going to look at specific books to help us in doTERRA like aromatherapy books, etc. The group is specifically for people who are IPCs in doTERRA, not other companies (oil or otherwise).
I would love for you to join if you'd like. We just finished the August book called "The Slight Edge" by Jeff Olson, and are now beginning the September book called, "You Can Work Your Own Miracles," by Napoleon Hill.

Personally, I've been in direct sales since the early 1980s and have read tons of books like this, so as I said, I'm choosing from my own library and particularly some of my favorites from over the years, as well as other books suggested by others, including my upline, Peggy Smith. People in the group are also making great suggestions for upcoming books.
Reading these kinds of books will help give you the tools you need to overcome the "judgment" of your friends/family, plus it will help you develop additional personal strength to follow your heart in sharing the oils, no matter what other people think.
