I usually use 5-6 drops at least. Is it a Lotus? There's a little line in the well where the water goes in the Lotus. If you fill above that, it won't mist as well. Mine will usually have enough water for only 1 hour, going continuously. So, if it went for 2 and there's still water in it, it might be over-filled.
