Wendy, thank you for your input! I was treated like a vampire when this gentleman saw me the next time so I knew it was serious for him and I did not take it lightly. Luckily we are not in the same part of the building. Your recommendations are what I was thinking about doing especially since I will be in contact with him again.

Please take his reactions very seriously. Don't brush them off. I have been using these oils for years but have to be very careful as my family has to deal with several different allergies. And, yes, you can be allergic to doTerra oils. My three year old, especially allergic son, stepped just inside the door of my friends house to wait for me while I chatted with her. Her home smelled pleasant as she was diffusing Wild Orange. I noticed my son starting to fidget and scratch his chest after a minute or two. When I realized what must be happening, it was too late. He started screaming, threw himself to the floor and frantically rolled around while scratching everywhere! Thankfully, I was able to get him to his NAET practitioner so he finally calmed down after his treatment. If he were just detoxing, NAET wouldn't work. Another time, he had a two day hospital stay as his throat was swelling shut because I accidentally gave him marjoram instead of basil (she was out of town or I would have taken him to our practitioner again). You wouldn't tell someone with a peanut allergy to use a concentrated form of peanut essential oil (just an example) and then say they are just detoxing as it is from a pure source. Yes, put your oils in a capsule or on the bottoms of your feet and keep your shoes on. I don't want to offend anyone. I know detoxing is part of it, but so is the allergy. My hayfever season is shorter and less severe because I have been taking the doTerra vitamins for years, but I still have the allergy.

Is this person new to your office or are you new? If you NEED your oils, it sounds like it's a toxic environment and he's reacting to it too. If he was there before and now inhaling your oils, he likely is detoxing. Worst case scenario you could put your oils in a capsule instead of wearing/inhaling. Hopefully he is open to explanation since it's not an allergy (check archives for protein/allergy connection or maybe someone can chime in here). Sometimes people who have issues with perfumes are placeboed and think they are reacting even if they are not. People who think they get chemo lose their hair too. Weird phenomenon.

Hi,--Just started working with a person who says he is allergic to my "perfume" and he had a very hard time breathing around me. I only had a few oils on. I know some people have sensitivities to the oils and I think it could be because their bodies are so out of whack that this reaction is their bodies immediately needing to detox. Am I right?Anyway, I do not have to engage with this person too much during the day and do not want to offend but at the same time I need my oils. Any suggestions.--
