mine didn't work either then I talked to someone at the convention and she told me that I needed to use very warm water, it works like a charm now :) and for only 20.00 each I can buy one for each room. I know they are not the same quality as the doterra one, but since I have had 4 doterra diffusers that have needed to be fixed after one year, I think this smaller one is a good option for us personally.
