Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Oils for Type 1 Diabetes

Last night we had another bought of tanking.  I put Coriander Oil on her feet before she went to sleep.  At 10:40 PM I took her bedtime BG reading and it was 119 (down from 134 from 8:30...when I gave her a bottle and corrected for the bottle's carbs).  Just before 12 AM, her pump's alert went off telling me that she was rapidly decreasing.  Her pump SG reading was 97...and her BG reading at that moment was 47!  We treated the low bg with another bottle and NO additional insulin.  We needed her BG to raise.

Her BG increased to 124 and then started to go back down.  Her pump started alarming us again of a low SG level in the 70s...her BG was really in the 90s.  Every ten min we were getting an alert.  At that moment at 1:50 AM, I shut off her pump from giving her ANY insulin for 1 hour.  After an hour, she still didn't come up to a normal, safe range.  So I shut her pump off AGAIN for another hour.  At the end of the 2nd hour...she still didn't come up.  SO - I shut her pump off for another 1.5 hours!!  At 4 AM, we both finally fell asleep and her SG reading was in the low 100s.

When we both woke up around 8 AM, her pump alerted me a low trend again - SG reading of 111.  Then...all of a sudden her pump read an SG reading of 189.  In actuality her BG reading was 110.  (Yes - BG and SG readings NEVER equal each other).

The amazing thing to me was that she was without ANY insulin for 3.5 hours last night and never rose to an unsafe range!  I don't know if the Coriander Oil is to reap the success...but I am glad I didn't add On Guard! ;)  That works too rapidly!!
