Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Oils for Type 1 Diabetes

Way to keep good records! It is helping you figure out the right path! I'm sure the nurse was impressed with your confidence, too.
Press on and we pray on!

Hi all,

Just wanted to report that we had our daughter's follow-up appointment today.  We went over her numbers and I told the nurse what we were doing differently.  She seemed in disbelief...but trusted me enough when I argued against reducing her insulin again.  That's right...I argued AGAINST an insulin reduction in the morning.  See...I figured out what I was doing wrong in the AM.  Because our daughter is on the Medtronic MiniMed 530G insulin pump, she's getting insulin every 10 min, like a normal pancreas would be delivering.  And since I was testing her before 8 AM (7:45 AM), she was seemingly higher than where I wanted her - like 188.  I was getting her dressed AND putting Coriander Oil on her feet before she went down to get breakfast.  So it was roughly 10 min between the Coriander Oil application and testing her blood for her breakfast BG reading.  Yes - Coriander Oil was bringing her down from around 160 to 71, 61, 63...within 45 min.  I realize that within that 45 min she was also getting her basal insulin, but that little amount of insulin wouldn't necessarily bring her down that far that fast.

The bigger news is that within 45 days, her Hemoglobin A1C (of HbA1C) reading went from 9.7 down to 9 just within the last 45 days.  Even the nurse remarked that it was a significant drop in a short amount of time.

Here's the rub with Coriander Oil (pun intended).  Because we were in a rush this morning and running late - I didn't have time to properly rub Coriander Oil on her feet like I do everyday.  I was doing it while she was finishing up eating...and usually I do it about 45-60 min AFTER she's eaten.  At 12:00 PM her BG reading was 344!!!!!  Which we haven't seen numbers in the 300s for WEEKS - except when she was sick and had a fever.  We obviously corrected for that number with insulin (especially since we were in the dr office) and I will keep up with the insulin + Coriander Oil routine and report back.

OH - I forgot to mention.  I brought the oils with me and the nurse was so happy to know where the wonderful scent was coming from.  She thought it was a perfume I was wearing...LOL!
