[Everything doTERRA] Severe Disc Herniation

My niece is 37 years old and has been laid out for 3 weeks with a severe herniated disc at the L5-S1.  The official MRI results are as follows:

1. L5-S1 disc bulge with superimposed large central disc herniation, severe thecal sac compression and mild impingement upon both descending S1 nerve root sheaths. (Size of herniation: 10 mm cephadolocaudad (that means up and down it's how tall the bubble is) x 10 mm AP (that is how far it's pushing back into the thecal sac which contains the spinal cord) x 20 mm transverse (that's how wide it is. Wide enough to hit the nerve roots on the left and the right)

2. Severe L5-S1 spinal stenosis (narrowing of space where the nerve root is ....but this is due to the disc herniation and not bony growth which is good)

3. Mild L4-L5 spinal stenosis

4. Mild L4-5 disc  bulge with superimposed small central disc extrusion (3mm interior migration). ....this one is tiny. No big deal. And not symptomatic.

The doc said that the body can re- absorb some of the nuclear material and that can help with the severity of symptoms. He also said that a risk of what she has is if the body decides to put calcium deposits into the herniated portion. That is really bad and requires immediate surgery because basically the body starts to make bone there and that obviously can permanently damage nerve.

So we're trying to find anything that can help absorb nucleus of the disc material and reduce inflammation.

She is currently weaning off all prescription medications.

Any suggestions?  She's always been so active, but now this :-(.  We don't want to have to go through surgery.
