Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Ingesting oils

Debra,
I don't think you should be scared, you should be educated. Essential oils are very strong, 1 drop of chamomile is equivalent to 30+ cups of strong chamomile tea.  Doterra's own gel caps, such as TriEase, have less than 3 drops of oils and recommended dosage is 1-2/day.

So, there is a place for internal consumption. As with anything, you should know what you're putting in your body.

How come so many other people I know are telling me to be wary of taking them internally? that they can be toxic. They are scaring me.

However, I do have a bad cold and I have been taking On guard internally and do feel it helped and then last night my throat hurt and I did take the tea tree oil one as was suggested.. internally.

but I'm scared.

Tracy, I would have to say also that many of us take a ton of oils internally--they are fabulous!  However, that is due to the purity of the oils!!  I have taken all of them internally, and even wintergreen has a place internally. If you look on Dr. Hills cancer protocol, you will notice in the pain mixture for SEVERE pain, it lists 12 drops wintergreen internally!  Yes, we have used it, many times.  Have also used 1/3 capsule deep blue, 1/3 capsule peppermint, and 1/3 capsule vetiver.  also, I have successfully used arborvitae internally--it ROCKS!!  And, when I need something to go through my body systemically--I capsule it with great success.  If I want it to enter blood stream, I can swish and swallow.  Here is a very personal testimony I just would like to mention about internal use.  We had someone (this is very personal for her and I will try to be discreet)  who was starting to itch terribly in the rectum area.  It went on and on.  The itching became unbearable.  She was so funny.  This went on for about 6 months.  She had never had much trouble with hemorrhoids, so wasn't sure if that was it.  Thought she may have parasites, or some disease from not being more careful in the restrooms (she puts paper down, she was just panicking)  she tried the hemarhoid oils topically, to no avail.  The itching was severe.  The only thing that gave her relief was peppermint.  Yes, peppermint topically.  No, it didn't burn much, but really took the itch away, but didn't take the problem away.  she finally broke down and went to the doctor--yes--she had a SEVERE case of hemorrhoids.  the dr. told her it was past the over the counter point and gave her a prescription and she was bummed because she wanted to only use oils for her healthcare needs.  She went home and did everything the doctor told her to.  It didn't work--good news--the pharmaceuticals didn't work either.  She was still curbing the pain and itching with peppermint.  She said she got so frustrated she knew it was inflammation (she had even tried oils in a capsule and inserting rectally but no help)  So, she capsuled 6 or 8 drops frankincense at 5:00 p.m. and took another at bedtime.  Woke up and they were GONE!!  Yay--her oils worked after all!!  She stayed on it for about a week and it changed everything for her.  All that to say, internal use is incredible.  You can even capsule them if you don't like the smell or taste.  Here is the trick--open the lid and get them on you or IN YOU!!  So, in my opinion only, internally in a capsule and also internally in a swish is the way I use the oils most!  Have been for 4 1/2 years--all of them--and even on my son.  Internally.  A lot.  hope that helps with your comfort level.  Not saying anybody else has to do that or follow suit, just you are missing a whole avenue of healing by limiting it to topical and aromatically.  Enjoy the journey.  These are powerful and awesome tools to use in our bodies.  Sorry to ramble, kind of a long testimony, but I always thought I would ask Dr. Hill (you know, the ten thousand dollar question--) why did the oils not do much topically, and why not rectally. But worked like a champ in a capsule?  I will ask him some day.  Until then.  just my thoughts.....

I would like to find out more about ingesting the Doterra oils. How safe it is... how about if you do more than one or two? How long has this been monitored? are there some conditions where it might be harmful? What happens if you don't dillutte  what says you should dilute and you just drink lots of water afterwards?

Is there anyone who has been experimenting for a long time with ingesting the oils?

I would like to talk to you.

Thanks so much,
Debra
