I have a facebook fanpage for people such as your husband that need scientific proof of the benefits of essential oils. I site peer-reviewed articles and medical journals such as pubmed, sciencedirect, journal of pharmacology, journal of micorbiology, etc. When I do site an article, I use only the species of plant that doTERRA uses. He doesn't have to "like" my page to have access.
I understand your angst. If there is something in particular he needs let me know. I can also find articles on the contraindications of allopathic medicine.

When you do a normal google search on essential oils there are so many
websites that come up that support essential oil use but that caution
that just because they are natural doesn't mean they are safe. They
say that eo's are super concentrated and therefore can be harmful.
Also certain oils are supposedly toxic for the liver. What my husband
keeps saying is that ok peppermint takes away a fever but what is
happening inside the body? Or if Oregano kills the virus what else
might it be hurting? Are there studies to show what the long term
affects are? I have listened to Dr. Hill and he is great but a lot
of people (Especially my husband) want studies shown from doctors
outside of doterra.
My husband keeps saying that they are chemicals and I am not a chemist
or a biologist and I don't have a rebuttle.. I mean they are chemicals
in some respect right? They have a chemical composition.. We have so
much tension in our home right now and it is devastating because I
believe they good for me and my children but my husband has prohibited
me from using them without showing him research that shows they will
not harm our children..
