Organic first press Coconut oil definitely has a coconut odor and even a bit of taste. Most don't mind it, some do not.  But Virgin coconut oil is VERY HEALTHY, anti bacterial and other claimed and proven health benefits.  I use it as much or more that FCO, although FCO is sometimes more handy to use.

I'm sure quality matters, but I have a question.  My fellow IPC is using coconut oil from the grocery store (solid at room temp kind).  It smells very strongly like coconut.  Shouldn't it have no smell like the FCO?  Is this a bad brand because it smells like coconut or is it ok?  Do they all smell this way?  I have a hard time smelling my oils in this coconut oil until I melt the oil.  Is this normal?
