The doc had my husband on Steroids when first diagnoised with UC. We only did that a short time. I got him on a probiotic and Alkaline water. We did that for years and he still took his "acid reducer" pills...he always had issues and he still got Crohns, because he still ate whatever he wanted to. He still eats whatever he wants but I truly believe oiling himself up regularly (1year now) has been what has changed his digestive issues along with PB and Terrazyme .

My daughter has UC. I strongly suggest that if he can manage his disease in other ways, that he get off the steroids. She has had a pretty severe case for several years. On Monday we will go in for reconstructive surgery on her wrist because it broke pulling the covers up over herself in bed. The prednisone had weakened it to the point that is all the pressure it took to snap it. She will have a bone graft, a tendon transplant and nerve repair. On Wednesday she went to the eye doctor. Her eyesight has deteriorated to the point that without glasses she is legally blind--again the prednisone. These meds are dangerous. In April she went on the protocol that Dr. Hill recommended. She also is on LLV and the women's bone supplement, the PB Assist and Terrazyme and changed her diet. She has been off the steroids for nearly a year and this is working. The damage is already done, but at least it is not getting worse. Helichrysum is a miracle for us. Good luck and keep working at it!CharlyOn Feb 22, 2013, at 11:55 AM, Lisa Banter <lisabanter@gmail.com> wrote:This was posted by one of my IPCs, she is new and is just learning about alternative Medicine.
We did post it on a FB group site and we all need to be careful in our helping others that we do not make them feel stupid with what they are doing as it has always been their first line of defense. Here is what she said." My husband was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in October. He takes 9 pills a day-steroids, iron, and medicine to decrease the inflammation in his colon. I rub his feet with peppermint, lavender, and digestzen (he doesn't like to take it orally. He's funny about the taste.) What else can I try? I just read oregano might help...I'll start that too! I'd love any suggestions you all have!"
Thanks for chiming in1Lisa--
