At the East Coast Conference David Stirling did a presentation about what makes doTerra different. He showed a video clip and it was about all the created hoopla and fun times that other MLMs generate rather than about something of value. The difference between doTerra and many other MLMs is that the product sells itself.
MLM is a wonderful business model for people to make their fortunes and those who help others are the ones more richly rewarded. The opportunity is available to everyone. This is one of the cheapest ways for a person to own a company too. There is no rent or mortgage to pay, insurance, excessive inventory, support staff to run the operation, general overhead, etc. Someone calculated that your first year in business maximizing your LRP you would spend $1800 with doTerra. This does not include supplies and support materials. The second year is cheaper because you earn 30% LRP off the bat. That is so cheap! You couldn't even open your doors with a traditional business for what we invest.
What sold me about doterra from the start is the integrity of the leadership and the product. That is priceless.

Some of the most successful people, particularly successful women, earned their success with MLMs. It is by far the best business model for allowing you to earn according to your effort, and rewarding hard work. Some of the best products on the marked are sold by MLMs. There is also a great webinar on reinventinghealthcareinfo.com called 'overcoming objections' and the last 1/3d of the discussion is specifically about why doTERRA isn't an MLM like people tend to think of them. You have a vested interest in your team's success.
Other MLMs pay commission in another way. They pay you a higher percentage for those on your Level 1, a little less for Level 2, and a little less as you go down. You really have no incentive to help your teams grow deep...your best commissions would be just to place everyone on your Level 1 and earn a higher percentage...so really, everyone is left to fend for themselves. Not a lot of encouragement to be a team.
