[Everything doTERRA] Re: Viral anosmia?

Hi Nancy and Rob,
My GP could see the fluid in there when he looked, as did the ENT. But neither had any solution other than to take a prescription strength Claritin, which I have been doing. I'd rather NOT do that, because while it clears up at least the popping/crackling and mild pain associated with the pressure changes (I experience those too, Nancy!), as soon as I *stop* taking it, the symptoms come right back. Can't justify staying on a med like that long term...who knows what other effects it's going to have on my body.

Hi Robb,
Thanks for posting! I have felt that I have fluid behind my eardrums for a while now and no Dr can figure our what I'm talking about! Its just a full feeling when I wake up in the morning and I, too, have crackling and popping especially when I'm driving and go up and down some of the hills here in the northwest...not even very big hills! Theres one place where my left ear will routinely pop whenever I drive past. I think I'm just really sensitive to the pressure changes. I'm going to try some helichrysum as Rob James suggests. I've noticed though that it does help to not eat sugar and white flour!

Hello!
I've searched the essential oils site for answers to this problem, but haven't found any. Perhaps someone can offer some suggestions?: I have a chronic problem with fluid building up behind my eardrums. Not like "swimmer's ear," in that it's not something that tends to cause infections or pain, and I haven't had an ear infection since I was a small child. Yet, I've got fluid back there that won't dissipate, which causes popping and crackling noises all the time. Is there an oil that I can use to try to get rid of that fluid? If so, how should I apply it? Thanks so much!
