Thank you very much for your support! I thought of patenting it, but it is enormously expensive. I might still do it though. I have been referred to an intellectual property and trademark attorney who is going to help me secure my blend. Then, by law, it will be required for all these people who are trying to turn my blend into their own business, to remove whatever recipes they are promoting that are tied to the Peaceful Child name. It really needs to be the correct blend if it is called "Peaceful Child". If people are interested, they can open a wholesale affiliate account with me and sell it that way. This way, my business is protected and individuals will receive the correct formula of Peaceful Child. I agree with Pat that In Tune is an excellent blend. If doTERRA reps want to sell something and make money, they might just want to sell In Tune. I have figured that PC has stronger calming properties (if it's the real blend) and IT has stronger focusing properties. I recommend parents use both, if they are managing ADHD. If they are managing anxiety and/or a belligerent child, they might want to stick with PC. If they are managing attention deficient without hyperactivity, they only need. IT for an oil. Again, micro brain nutrients are VERY important! Also, there is a lot of support out there for parents so that they can learn new parenting techniques, behavioral modification, and cognitive therapy. Some of these children do fine with the regular use of oils. Others need much more, especially children with Aspergers, Autism, and Tourettes.
Also, I wanted to say that Jackie was right, initially, I shared my blend with others so as to be helpful. When I went back to my email of the recipe I sent, I realized that I had left out the 2nd ingredient and also, I had put too many drops for one of the other oils I listed. The recipe I shared still helped, but it just wasn't accurate and didn't have all the sedative and calming properties that people REALLY want when dealing with behavioral disorders or insomnia. It ended up being to my advantage that I had messed up my own recipe, because no sooner had I discovered this, that I realized that people were turning my blend into their own little business on eBay, blogs, FB, etc. That's not what I had intended it for. At that point, it became clear that if Peaceful Child was going to be turned into a business, I should be the one to do it (and with the correct recipe). About 4 months after officially starting the business, my husband moved out and I was suddenly in the position of either going back to work, or making a go of my blend so that I could stay home with my children. That is how the official Peaceful Child business began. I don't just sell the blend though, I actually offer counseling and answers tons of questions and emails from frustrated parents around the world. It can be very time consuming, but these parents are at their wits end and need someone who understands them to help them. It is very fulfilling for me to be able to be that person.
Thank you again for your support!
Love to all,
Deborah D. Gardner

I whole-heartily agree with Pat & Jackie. I too have found many other websites (blogs mostly) who are posting the Peaceful Child Blend incorrectly as well as trying to promote their doTERRA business by sharing the recipe & following it with their retail web address or offering to make it for customers for a price. Some might argue that it's not patented so it's up for grabs, I couldn't disagree more. I would love the web address for where to purchase this blend as I think every child could benefit from it.Peace, Love and Oils.

This makes me sad. I'm sure there is no ill intent, but I hope these people will be a little more discerning and realize that it's not very respectful to try to make a profit off of another person's hard work without first asking their permission. My understanding is that initially Deborah graciously shared her recipe blend because she genuinely wanted to help others who are in the same situation she is; dealing with ADHD is difficult and exhausting for the parents. For those who genuinely want to help others with these types of difficulties, instead of selling her creation (which isn't the correct recipe anyway), please refer your interested people to her website. I am not related to Deborah - I just feel this is the honorable thing to do.

There are many people out there who are posting incorrect recipes (without Lavender as the 2nd ingredient). The correct recipe is actually not on line anywhere (I have searched far and wide). I just thought I should inform everyone that while the blend with the incorrect recipe is helpful, it is not nearly as strong and calming as the real blend. This is because doTERRA's French Lavender has very high calming and sedative properties. I do make and sell the blend on the official website. I just learned that I am not supposed to advertise on here, so I will not post the website, but you can google it. I would love to have everyone's support and respectfully ask that individuals do not sell the incorrect blend, but instead, contact me. I am a single mother of 5 kids and this little business helps supplement my income enough so that I can stay at home with my children. :) Also, I wanted to let everyone out there know that one of the best things you can do to help your children who have ADHD, Tourette's, Aspergers, or Autism, is to cut out foods with red dye, MSG, high fructose corn syrup, and if at all possible, white sugar. In addition, it is very important to supplement their diet with micro brain nutrients. The doTERRA fish oil and magnesium glycinate (available on line) are 2 such essential nutrients. Here is an article about the magnesium, in regards to ADHD and Tourette's (which my son has):I hope this information helps!!Kindest regards,Deborah
