[Everything doTERRA] Re: psoriatic arthritis

The only protocol I have for psoriatic arthritis is to apply 1-2 drops of marjoram topically to the site. I know that's not much to go on but there is more that you can do.

I think that first off I'd make up a small jar (bigger than a lip-gloss jar but small until you know what will work for her) of salve using:
Unrefined organic coconut oil [UOCO] (the kind that is pretty solid at room temp) because it's a good carrier oil and it has it's own amazing health properties.
Some essential oils to consider using with the UOCO are : 
  • White fir - great for both pain and bone health
  • Marjoram - analgesic
  • Helichrysum - analgesic / anti-inflammatory / calming
  • Myrrh - analgesic / anti-inflammatory / also soothing to skin
  • Geranium - analgesic / anti-depressant / also soothing to the skin
  • Bergamot - analgesic / anti-inflammatory
  • Clove - analgesic / anti-inflammatory
  • Coriander - analgesic / anti-inflammatory / anti-bacterial
  • Frankincense - analgesic / anti-inflammatory
  • Lavender - analgesic / anti-inflammatory / calming / also soothing to skin
  • Lemongrass - great for joint and muscle pain
  • Wintergreen -  analgesic / anti-inflammatory
  • Balance Blend - assist the body in reaching homeostasis

Pain and inflammation are a part of arthritis, in all of its iterations. To that end I have to also suggest diet - eat a diet that eliminates (or at least reduces) inflammation. We can't expect our EO's to take care of problems that we continue to feed. My recommendation is the Wheat Belly [WB] way of eating. I've been doing it for 3+ months and it's made a HUGE difference in my health - my inflammation is gone. Before WB my inflammation was so bad that I had little flexibility and my arthritic knees were so painful that I dreaded each step I'd have to take. No more though. Yes, I still have [osteo]arthritis in my knees but without the inflammation the pain no longer dictates what I do each day. WHEAT BELLY is a book written by Dr. William Davis, a cardiologist in Milwaukee WI. At it's most basic WB means eliminating ALL grains from your diet - much easier to do than you think. 

Hopefully more of our community will have other suggestions for you but this is at least a place to start.

I've looked around on this site for testimonials & suggestions--not seeing too much.  A friend is trying to share her oils w/a dear friend that has this.  Her fingers are crooked, very tender & weak.  Toes are very painful & can't bend them.  Every once in a while hands break out in dry itchy scaly rash. Would love some input.  Thank you!
