[Everything doTERRA] Re: Question about "blending" vs "layering"-brokenfoot....

but in this case, are these oils not good to blend?  i have a roller of helichrysum, peppermint, and FCO (she cannot stand HC smell and the peppermint helps it tremendously) and it seems to truly help my daughter - i apply it to the curve of her back (she's a gymnast) and she puts on her heels (she has sever's disease in both feet) and then we put on her wrists which hurt from doing back flips on beam...and there is a noticable difference when she does not use it...  i guess i am curious since i love making roller blends because they are quick and easy to apply, esp for my little one - she can do it herself in the car on way to practice.  naturally i want to use them right...i have a peppermint/lavender/fco mix too for sore achy muscle relief too, and we both dislike lavender a LOT and the peppermint helps that smell too :)

This is from an email I rec'd this am:

broke my foot – I made a recipe from The Essential Life book in a roller bottle of helichrysum, frankincense, lemongrass, wintergreen & white fi.  Have been rolling it over the break & the bruises.  I've also been using Purify & OnGuard on the bottom of my feet to make the boot (which I have to wear for 6 weeks) more comfortable & smell good.  After a long day at work, the oils just make my foot feel better!

As I was reading this, I wondered about the combination she's mixed together.  I'm sure they're great oils for her foot but I'm reminded of Pat's comment somewhere on here talking about the benefit of layering vs blending, if you don't understand "blending".

It's not BAD to blend, correct?  What IS the reason for not blending if you don't have some knowledge in blending to know how to do it correctly?  Is the outcome just not as beneficial as you might get from layering if you combined oils that weren't such a good mixture?
