I have a great dane too. :) I am sorry he is having this issue, poor guy. When looking at all the ingredients in the different dog foods, have you checked for a possible common denominator that might be giving him grief? Perhaps there is a specific ingredient that just happens to be in all the foods that doesn't agree with him. What does he sleep on? If his bedding can be washed look at what you use to wash it with. Dryer sheets can cause allergy issues in people..maybe dogs too. Do you spray any chemicals like febreze around him or where he is..the furniture he is allowed on or his bed or even just the floor? I believe a lot of things that cann negatively affect us can affect our pets too. Perfumes and colognes can affect them. We had a Jack Russell Terrier that was allergic to some chemical in the stuff we used to mop our kitchen floor. That was crazy to figure out. How about his shampoo? How is your water? Maybe if the chemicals that cause our water to either be 'hard' or 'soft' affect him? I'm reaching here, but still, when you are desperate you have to rule EVERYTHING out. I have read adding a drop of Lemon eo to a dogs water can help itching. Worth a shot! My dane doesn't have the itching issue but she has dandruff sometimes and so I tried the lemon in her water and she refused to drink it. How about the heartworm medicine? Or flea and tick stuff? If you haven't seen a vet yet or even if you have if you record all the above information for them it could be helpful in ruling things out. You have probably thought of all this already. These are just the things I would do. As for the tri ease, I would try it with my dog. I would try one capsule a day with his food. Or you could apply the allergy blend directly to his paws. I wish you the best of luck. Let us know what you figure out.

I have a Great Dane/Lab mix (80 lbs) that is constantly itchy. He's itchy on his body and his ears; it's not unbearable for him but I just want to help him if I can. I have him on an all natural grain free dog food so I know it's not the food he's eating. Trust me, I tried out 6 different all natural grain free foods before I stuck with the food he's on now (both different flavors and brands), and I also did lots of research on the 'food energetics chart' for dogs to see exactly where he landed...so his food I have under control. I also give him 8 fish oil pills a day, and I make sure only to use certain brands of fish oil that state exactly where they get their fish from.I'm not sure if he has seasonal allergies or not. He does not have a rash or anything like that, and it's not concentrated in one area, it's his whole body that's itchy. His hair gets these small white flakes after you scratch him, like dandruff (he almost looks dusty). Also, his ears do not have any type of infection in them, I check constantly, they are simply just itchy. I also just had him at the vet and the vet said his ears looked great too, so again no infection just itchy.I am looking for EO's to use to help take the extra itchy edge off for him. Any suggestions? Also, is it ok if I give him the triease daily in his food? Thanks for your help!
