I have spent a great deal of time in the last few months researching all the toxicity reports on essential oils that I could find. In almost every case involving cats, the oils were used in inappropriately high amounts. In one case an owner shaved 3 Persians & covered them in 20ccs each of tea tree oil. That much oil applied all at once could make a human pretty darn sick & they have enzyme systems to help them eliminate the offending compounds where a cat doesn't. Treat your cat the same as you would treat a tiny baby. Dilute the oils & use them more sparingly than you would on yourself. In the cat world, they need more time between treatments than we do because they can't metabolize oils as quickly as we do.
Try cutting TerraShield 1 drop in 30 drops of FCO, put 3 or 4 drops of this mix in your hands, rub them together for a bit then just pet your cat like you normally would. If there is any bad reaction follow up with a petting using coconut oil alone. Try to stay away from their face & eyes. You can rub their ears as well but don't try to put any essential oils down their ear canal.
Make sure you only use high quality oils like doTerra & you will find that cats can reap similar health benefits to what you can get. My 19 year old CloudyKitty just purrs & goes on when I pet him with full strength frankincense every morning.

Also, a neighbor reported that her cats has fleas. We usually don't have problems with fleas in this area so I've never had to do anything about that. Any suggestions to keep all kinds of critters offmy cats?--
