[Everything doTERRA] Wrist pain

My friend's  daughter was complaining of pain in her wrists.  It is so severe that she is having trouble holding anything in  her right hand.  They went to an orthopedic doctor who told them:   that her ligaments stretch so they aren't supporting the bones and he said it's common in girls. . . he gave her 2 wrist braces to wear at night to prevent bending them in her sleep and told her to use a stress ball to strengthen her arm muscles to help support the ligaments . . . and nothing for pain
he told her eventually it will be tolerable and as she gets older the ligaments get stiffer

Is there an oil that will help to strengthen her ligaments? I was thinking lemongrass applied topically, morning, noon and night. How often should she be using it?

Thanks for your help.
