This is why it is so important that one be educated about oils. A little goes a long way. I love cinnamon in my oatmeal but would never use cinnamon oil to flavor it. I learned natural healing from my mother who was an expert in herbs. I would suggest that she see her doctor as this sounds bad and I'm not aware of anything for internal burns. She may try the coconut pull or drinking milk to see if that helps.

I am reading more and more about these kinds of incidents. I am also seeing where some people say the oils should not be ingested because they can cause permanent damage to your esophagus even when they don't burn. Like it is a cumulative effect. Also that they can stress/damage your liver. Anyone else hearing this?

This situation reminds me of what happened 10 years ago when I put a few drops of oregano oil in water to drink.
I will always remember the burning and how long it went on.
Since then I have learned that since the oils are fat soluble, one can remedy the situation by drinking milk, or eating something with fat- coconut oil would be great to use ( a coconut pull with a tablespoon of coconut oil, not the fractionated kind.

Have not had this problem, but I wonder if honey would help heal the throat. I buy my honey from a local farmer and use it with the oils that I digest.
