Do you know why he has back pain?  Is he taking the supplements?  

If possible, he needs the AromaTouch Technique.  You can try the other oils, like marjoram, wintergreen, deep blue, but you need to address the real reason for the back pain.  He also may need to apply the oils more frequently than he is now.
