My husband is very fond of birch (sorry, don't have any to sell!), but he finds that it works best with BONE issues, not muscles and aches. If he has an injury from exercise that doesn't involve his bones, he gets better results with Deep Blue. But if it's a true skeletal issue, birch works a lot of magic. He typically uses it when his back aches (vertebrae pain) or like the time he fell and either cracked or broke his tailbone.
I hope you're able to find an oil that works (frankincense, Deep Blue, lemongrass, wintergreen, peppermint?) if you're unable to get a hold of some birch.
