The vet thought my dog had torn his as well.  He was in so much pain he went from very energetic to barely able to walk in one day.  I used deep blue rub (with a little FCO) then lemongrass. Lemongrass is very good for helping ligaments repair themselves.  The doctors did have to put him on prednisone but to help with the pain and inflammation, but then he was able to heal himself.  It took about 6 weeks but he is all better now.
