So first, pick up after the dogs when they go, to eliminate the problem. But look at what you're feeding the dog. There are a number of very good foods available (not at the grocery store), and not Science Diet, and even some that are gluten and grain free (not that you need to go that way if the dog doesn't need it).
Go to a pet store (private, not chain) and ask about foods. They usually have samples you can have. The compare the nutrition levels in those foods with what the dogs are eating now and see if there's something obvious that isn't in the current food.
I've owed dogs since I was 7 years old, and now I'm in my 50s....I've paid a lot in vet bils, though now I love and use the oils on my dogs, and I've tried a lot of foods, and have found one that I choose to feed them.
