This discussion portrays a clear example of such hostility: http://www.linkedin.com/groups/gid-1850885.S.122875178?qid=ebb33fc6-da03-4a1e-88e1-3c7d6c103088&trk=group_most_recent_rich-0-b-cmr&goback=%2Egmp_1850885%2Egde_1850885_member_127409984%2Egmr_1850885
I think it would be wrong to turn a blind eye to the hostility that indeed exists among many of those who have been trained and educated in the use of essential oils. It is indeed concerning to see such. These are educated people - I am not. I trust the guidance of doTERRA, yet these people insist that it is wrong, and indeed dangerous to use oils neat on the skin and to take them internally.
The question arises, why does doTERRA say one thing, and the essential oils profession say another?
I think doTERRA could do better by being more forthcoming with the science and research to defend the advice they give. doTERRA stress the purity (and indeed, that the oils are the purest of all) but seem to shy away from releasing the results to prove it. When looking on other essential oil suppliers website, I see next to each oil advertised, an information sheet quoting research results and other information. We do not share that info.
I think it would be helpful in defending against the attacks on doTERRA's credibility if they were to demonstrate that they do have high quality oils and that there is research to support the recommendations for their usage, and it would help to build relations with others who are hostile toward uss.
