Re: [Everything doTERRA] Diamond Kit- loan

I agree with Ginny.  It sounds like you are giving away too much.  I have found that with most of my customers, the more I give them, the less they order or they never order at all.  If they try it at my house (that's 2 drops) and they like it, they order.  If I send them home with a bottle, they never end up ordering.  Just my 2 cents.

I think it is perhaps a wiser idea to finance yourself.  Set aside some money each month towards growing your business and additional money towards buying your own Diamond/Oil Sharing kit.  Calculate how soon you can realistically order it and see how much money you should set aside each month.

If you buy a huge kit that you have to go into debt for now, how are you going to finance your other business expenses?  Like handouts, travel, craft fair fees?  You need these to be successful, in my opinion.

Also, home business is all about your own drive and motivation.  Do you want to have those feelings of pressure about how big your next check is?  Or how successful you are being because you are accountable to someone else for money?  If I felt pressured to make sales (as I would if I were in debt with something Doterra related), that would personally crush me.  Just something to think about.

I think giving yourself monthly installments into your business and towards a large kit is the best option rather than borrowing.  Just my 2 cents.

You will probably get a bunch of different opinions on this one. I'm looking at this and my big concern is that you might be giving away too much. When I give out samples I use those little clear perfume vials and just up to ten drops and I usually don't give more than one or two to one person and they just get them once, after that they have to purchase. I also only give samples to people I've personally connected with, I don't mail or drop them off to businesses or people who haven't shown an interest.
When I started I did so with a ph kit and replaced oils with my commissions and sales. My personal theory is that you shouldn't put more into it than you can afford. Look at the numbers, how many samples have you given out and how many sign ups? How many ph kit enrollments do you have to get to pay for a big kit? You will hear a lot of people say you have to invest money to make money. Anyone who has done it successfully will tell you that the key is to invest the money wisely. In this business I see more results in properly investing time than money.

Has anyone else borrowed money from a family member in order to purchase a Diamond or Oil sharing Enrollment kit? I'm considering it. How long do you think it will take me to pay them back? 6 mos, 1 year? I've been an IPC only a few months and things are just starting to pick up. I purchased a home essentials kit and I've given it almost ALL away in samples...I'm just getting started with hosting parties and sending samples out to local holistic practitioners, family and friends. I'm currently only making the lowest % in commission.

Thanks,
Sarah
