we are dealing with this same thing right now. My 10 year old can hardly handle the pain. The only relief we have been able to get is with purify on the outside of the ear. I have also been putting pressure on her foot reflex points on her foot (the top of the pinkie toe and the one next to it.) Also a warm compress.
