I'm using the coconut/lavender oils for the "it's actually sunny today and I'll be in and out of the sun" situations (I'm in OR, so it hasn't exactly been an issue yet this year!), not the "I'm going to be on a boat in the middle of the lake all day" situations.
I'm pretty fair as well, but the coconut/lavender is great for when I'm riding my bike downtown, but not staying out in the sun the whole day. I love that it provides a little protection while still allowing me to get some natural vitamin D that is so lacking here in OR.
I AM taking the LLV, and excited to read Mercola's info on that ingredient as well. Is there something in the LLV that protects us from mosquitoes too? :-)

I would like share my experience in this:
I sprayed on a mixture of 60 drops Lavender, 60 drops Heli, and
remaining 2 oz FCO on Friday and got a terrible burn. I used a
stronger ratio 3 weeks ago on slightly tanned skin and it worked just
fine then. But this was a more diluted ratio on white skin and didn't
work. I have used up 3/4 bottle of Mela, 3/4 bottle of Lav, 1/3
bottle of Frank, and 1/3 bottle of Peppermint trying to heal my skin.
I'm still red after 48 hrs, but no sign of blisters. :-)
I'm a little discouraged, but still going to use the oils as a
sunscreen. I am very fair skinned but can build a tan with time. I
plan to make a stronger ratio and 'ease' into it after this heals.
Also, for those who were curious, I am NOT currently taking the LLW or
LV.
