I have high blood pressure and use peppermint topically and internally quite a bit. I have taken my blood pressure often after using peppermint because i have heard the same thing. However, my blood pressure either doesn't raise or raises minimally (between 1 and 5 points). if you use peppermint essential oil, I would put on the cuff and check it every 1/2 hr or so to make sure your pressure doesn't react badly to the oil. Everybody is different. I couldn't do without my peppermint however!

Hi I have heard that any one with high blood pressure should be careful in using peppermint. What about the blends that contain peppermint, does that apply to them? Thanks.--
