That can be a symptom of Thyroid disorders, too. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos 30 years ago and have had the ridges and sometimes cracks my whole adult life. I just buff them and otherwise have really strong nails. A friend of mine was helped by the oil suggestions in the Modern Essentials book for fingernails.

Subject: [Everything doTERRA] Ridges, lines, cracks in fingernails
Hello all.
I was asked by a lady (and I have this too) about lines, ridges and cracks in fingernails and which oils would help with this. I have been told that it is from Psoriasis, she has never been told that. I always felt it was being caused by an internal condition (like Candida)... both of us have done GX Assist, etc.
What suggestions do you have for the nails? Anything that might help heal the nails topically? I am going to try Melaleuca since it is so awesome for fungus... we'll see. But, what else?
