Re: [Everything doTERRA] Antibiotics vs. Candida

Have you heard of the SCD diet before?  It is very good for intestinal issues. I have celiac disease and have found a lot of relief in symptoms by following this diet.  I also use all the DoTerra products and together it has been amazing!  When I first started doing the GX Assist, it was too much for my system. However, in combination with this diet, I find it works really well.  It stands for Single Carbohydrate Diet and you can google it to find out more. I believe I bought the ebook that has the whole meal plan for about $30.

Also, I would not take both the GX and PB at the same time. The GX assist is cleaning everything out, and as I understand it, it is almost a waste of the PB Assist.  I just finished on Friday a 10 day cleanse and I started the PB Assist on Saturday. I am taking 2 capsules with every meal. I also started the Terrazyme as the good enzymes will also help your gut issues and help things to digest and absorb properly.

Another Candida question.

Does lemon in drinking water help kill off yeast cells, or does it just facilitate moving the dead cells out of the body channels (like a diuretic maybe)?

Last time I did the GX/PB cleanse I had an elevated liver function test, which I assume was because of too much yeast die-off overloading my liver, so I stopped the cleanse.

Now the Candida is back again along with lots of gas, diarrhea and other symptoms like brain fog/morning hangover, muscle stiffness, insomnia, fatigue, skin flushing/crawling, etc.  I did a spit test this morning and it was positive--all the saliva sank to the bottom of the glass of water within just a few minutes.

Yesterday I started GX Assist 3 x day and PB Assist 3 x day (yes, at the same time).

I am keeping my diet "clean" but I fear I am not taking in enough carbohydrates, as I am still losing weight, and I am already under weight as it is.  If I up the carbohydrates then the yeast flourish, and my blood sugar goes up (I am pre-diabetic).

I do see lots of improvement in my skin, however.  With all my cleansing the foot fungus, ear and scalp fungus are almost completely clear.  :)

I do the oil pull every morning, but I haven't thought of doing that before a visit to the dentist.

Ileen,
It is important to control the bacteria in the mouth. I do the oil pull before visiting a dentist and can honesty tell him that I took antibiotics before my visit to him (oils). The pull if to use 2 tbsp of fractionated coconut oil with 2 drops each of clove and oregano. Put in mouth and hold for 10 minutes, just moving it slowly around in your mouth. Spit after the 10 minutes are up. Continue as needed. If this is for a pre dental visit then do twice a day for 3-4 days and right before your visit.

Thank you!  I started the PB Assist last week, and I am seeing good improvement.  I will do the GX after I finish the PB and wait for 10 days or so.  In thinking back when this all started in January, I was being treated for a urinary tract infection (2 rounds of antibiotics).  Then I had a cardiac procedure and was given another round o antibiotics because the UTI was not completely gone.  I had my teeth cleaned in mid January and again mid April and got another antibiotic both times.  I started on PB for a couple of months, but I only took one each day.  That must not have been enough.

When you have your teeth cleaned do you take something like oregano, or something else that would have an antibiotic effect, in place of the antibiotic your dentist wants you to take?  My dentist insists that studies show infection can travel from the teeth to places like the heart and cause havoc there.

Thanks for getting me on the right track.

It is helpful to do the GX first and then the PB. However there are times when you need the PB badly and in that case you would take it and when things calm down then do the GX and always follow with the PB>

Pat,

Would it be helpful to do a GX Assist cleanse before the PB Assist?

I would start the PB Assist right away. My dentist recommends this also, I smile all the way home where I throw the prescription in the garbage.

I have my teeth cleaned every three months, and the dentist insists that I take antibiotics before each cleaning because I have had major surgeries.  This, of course wipes out the good bacteria in my intestinal flora.

I have now had diarrhea since January.  I just completed a second stool culture, and it is negative.  The only thing I can think of that is causing this is an overgrowth of candida.

I am already at or below my optimal weight, so I am reluctant to do another GX cleanse for fear of losing more weight.  I took PB Assist after my cleaning in mid April, but that didn't help the diarrhea.  I have resorted to DigestZen 3 drops twice a day for the last two weeks to control the diarrhea.  Would it do any good to take more PB Assist without doing the GX Assist?  Or, in other words, if I already have an overgrowth of Candida, could taking more PB Assist "crowd out" the Candida?  I am thinking not.

If I do take another round of GX Assist, can I continue the DigestZen too?  (I could go back to taking a tablespoon of flax seed meal in a glass of water twice a day for the diarrhea if needed.)  I have been on LLVP for over a year and have had no problems with that.  About a month ago I stopped using any oils for about a week without any change in the diarrhea, so I don't think that is causing a detox reaction.

Since I understand a GX Assist cleanse is recommended quarterly, I guess I could do that right after I have my teeth cleaned followed with the PB Assist. :)

I would appreciate any suggestions.
