It's actually not hot at all!  Try it yourself first, but it's very mild.  Feet are always a good option though!  We also sometimes put oils in rollers for the kids, and it may help to roll it over lymph nodes around the jaw - i do that and it seems to help with my husband's Melissa roller, but i'm not sure that would be the best way.

Black pepper is supposed to be the "poor man's Melissa" according to Dr Hill. We've had great success with it killing nasty bugs when other oils wouldn't  kick it. I'd use it as a preventative too!
