[Everything doTERRA] Re: Cough that won't go away!

My 9 year old daughter has had a persistent underlying cough left over from a cold back in August.  It has turned into a throat clearing issue, sometimes as often as every 30 seconds. After using homemade cough syrup, cough drops, On Guard drops, and oils, I began researching this sort of thing online to see what other ideas were out there.  I know Rhinitis is a possibility (nasal drainage into the throat due to sinus irritation and/or inflammation), but she does it even when there is no sniffling or issue with the nose. It has been suggested it has become a habit.  I came across another theory that the bronchial tubes and lungs are irritated and inflamed and feel like a tickle or like something is bothering them in their throat, so they feel the constant need to cough or clear it.  Then it becomes a cycle because the more they cough and try to clear it the more irritated and inflamed it becomes causing them to want to cough and clear it.  The theory is that if you can get them calm long enough to allow the irritation to do down then they can stop the coughing and throat clearing and allow it to fully recover.  To do this several different breathing exercises were suggested such as holding the breath when the urge is felt to clear, and then slowly letting the air out as well as resisting coughing or clearing, or swallowing it instead of allowing it to be open and large.  This seems to have worked to some extent, but she still seems to have the underlying problem.  She has a hard time swallowing capsules so, that's out.  The other trick is when she is at school I'm not with her constantly to remind her to do something to help it get calm long enough for a full recovery.  I'm interested in the dragon juice and also wonder if anyone else has had this issue.
