Sweet! Thank you so much. I will give this info to her. Especially the diet, did not even think of that but it sure makes sense!

I used the blend in Kristen Leigh Bell's book Aromatherapy for Animals. doTERRA doesn't offer all the oils in the blend, so you can leave them out or find another company to get the other oils:
15ml base oil (FCO or whatever you like)
2 drops Geranium
6 drops Rosewood
6 drops Lavender
1 drop Roman Chamomile
2 drops Carrot Seed
I ordered the Carrot Seed and Rosewood from Ananda's Apothecary. They use the same tests doTERRA does on their oils and they are working for my dog. I only use those oils for my dog's blend.
She also has a spray that includes aloe vera juice and some hydrosols if you are interested, the oil blend is best for spot treatment.
Boxers are prone to allergies with their bulldog breeding (they are a bull and terrier type) what is she feeding him?
I had to go through a lot of foods for my pit bull, it ended up he had food allergies expressing themselves through his skin. Finally ended up with a food that works (Nature's Variety Instinct Limited Ingredient) for him. Definitely get your niece's dog off of grains if at all possible if he isn't already eating grain free.

My dog has never had a problem with EOs, I have made EO recipes for him (calming and for his skin) and he has not had any bad reactions to them.
I have used both DigestZen and lavender, in addition to others, on my dog without issue.
Your guy may have some sensitivities- be very careful using oils on him and dilute heavily if you still want to use them for him would be my advice.
Anyone else?

I understand the oils are pure so using small amounts is criticial but can it be harmful to them? We have had some great expereinces using them on our animals when applied to their fur, verses the bottoms of their feet. Why is this?My 85ib lab mix has had 2 really scary reactions to lavender and digest zen on his foot pads. The first time he ate 2 dozen cookies and wasnt feeling his best. I put a drop of digest zen with FCO on one paw and he went nuts. His leg starting twitching, he went outside to dig holes (which he never does) to lay down in a cool area. he will run into walls, doors, and the furniture. It is really scary! This will last for an hour. The second time he got stung by a bee so i put lavender on his paw again and same reaction.I put lemongrass on his shoulder blades and he is fine with that, no reaction. Our cat got attacked and we used them on him and it seemed to make the infected area worse.I just want to make sure it cannot hurt my animals.?
