[Everything doTERRA] Re: iliotibial band syndrome

I developed ITBS last fall after running a half marathon. I had to take several weeks off of running to give it time to heal. I also started PT exercises someone on my runners forum suggested  (http://strengthrunning.com/2011/02/the-itb-rehab-routine-video-demonstration/). Both of those helped immensely. I used Deep Blue rub but needed an anti-inflammatory and didn't want to take OTC pain relievers so I found something called Willow Balm (under $10 at Amazon) which has willow bark in it (similar to aspirin). Once I was able to start running again (which you have to ease back gradually), I would ice my knee immediately for 10 minutes and then apply the Willow Balm. I would also apply the willow balm first thing in the morning after my shower and then again right before I went to bed. I also started foam rolling. I haven't had a problem with ITBS since (knock on wood).

Does anyone have any success stories with iliotibial band syndrome?
