Regarding Herxheimer reactions. Because of Lyme disease, unfortunately,
I'm very familiar with herxheimer reactions. We call them herx. I was
told (by two very expensive specialists) that when you get herx it means
that you are going to fast. With Lyme it is a gradual stepping up
treatment so you go back to the step where you didn't herx. In doTERRA
that means you stop what you are doing and significantly lower the drop
quantity and slowly try again.
When I see herx I usually check to see if other oils are being used,
especially Slim & Sassy and often we'll back off on those first to see
if we can proceed. Balance seems to help.
Things that really help... water with lemon oil. Drink a ton of it. 65%
of your body weight in water at a minimum. More is better. You don't
have to put lemon in all of it. Absolutely no artificial sweeteners.
Sugar in any form aggravates it. Black pepper, wheat and refined foods
aggravate it.
When herx crops up a daily PB Assist really helps. Most people with Lyme
or autoimmune have to take a daily PB Assist for life.
