Thank you Pat! First of all let me clarify these requirements of getting permission to participate have nothing to do with the fair. While reading the doTERRA Policy manual it stated that all public events and vendor fairs had to be approved by doTERRA prior to the event. I want to say they require 6 weeks but don't quote me on that. So...as a newbie I contacted them and I was told that yes...you do need prior consent and the event request form needs to be submitted and approved by both compliance and marketing. The form requires a layout of your booth anf a complete list of items at the booth. When I submitted this information I received the email I posted earlier. So unfortunately the place I was going had no restrictions. ..this all came directly from doTERRA. I am glad you have so much success! You are an inspiration!
PatI hope you will try to do events again, they are a great way to get the word out and to get some great new contacts. And I certainly would not contact doTerra compliance about every event I plan to attend. Even though I do nothing that would cause me any problems and I totally understand their conditions and requirements.Thank for sending this to me. First of all I have never requested compliance from doTerra at any of my events. This must have been a requirement from the County Fair.I am an independent product consultant and as long as all of my signs, samples and such have my name listed as an IPC for doTerra then I am compliant. I do a very large amount of events and train others how to do events. In fact I am in Washington State right now to specifically train some IPC's at their vendor events. I also do approx. 10 large events a year in my own area. I always have the ME books for sale at the events and I have all of the oils and other doTerra products for sale at retail at my events. I hand out samples on cards that explain what the oil is and what the possibilities are for it.

Hi Pat,Thank you for the reply! The restrictions came from doTERRA Compliance and it was specifically stated by them that the Zyto is not allowed, or the A-Z. Only the items found on doterratools are allowed and not items purchased from other sites or made yourself. I assume most people don't get the required approval before going to these events because from what have seen so far, they are all non-compliant. I was going to do the county fair since there are no representatives in our area. But through all the frustration and restrictions I decided to decline after the email below. I am going to have to just focus on classes; and they seem to be much more successful anyway. But I have to say I was bummed! Here is the quote from one of the 12 emails that went back and forth:Dear Carla,
We have received the event form. However, when reviewing the event I noticed that you have included the A to Z guide, and the Zyto Scanner. Neither item is approved at public events. The only items/information that has been approved for use at public events are those found on doterratools.com
Please let me know that you will make these changes, and I will receive the required approval from marketing.
Sincerely,
Christina Furner

I was bummed by all the restrictions when having a booth at a vendor fair. Since doTERRA has such high restrictions, what do others do to promote doTERRA at vendor fairs? I have developed all my own fliers to promote certain products, business cards, recipe cards, etc. As a graphic designer, I find the need to make a lot of my own designs. Unfortunately I can't use any of those at the booth...nor can we even use the Modern Essentials, A-Z or Zyto scanner. So what can be done to entice people to come see our booth? Any others have success with what doTERRA does allow? --
