A family member wants scientific proof about everything to do with
essential oils. Can anyone suggest reading material, webinars, or
anything that will help him understand how these oils work. I found a
book on the internet called The Chemistry of Essential Oils Made
Simple by David Stewart. Is anyone familiar with this book and or
author? Any suggestions would be helpful as I watch his five kids sick
all the time and constantly on antibiotics for something.

I would like the same with pharmaceuticals .. They do not heal the body..
Only lead to other issues .. Many blessings towards your inquiry as Gir me
    there is no issue ...

You may also wish to view the Science behind doTERRA by Dr Hill
(www.builddoterra.com and or My Chemistry Made Me Do It by Laura
Jacobs (google it). I'm not familiar with the book but David Stewart
    is one of ours :)

    Good luck,

It was sending this family member the webinar by Laura Jacobs - My
Chemistry Made Me Do It that he came away with more questions than
answers. At least this is a start because I couldn't get him
interested before. I'm glad to hear David Stewart is one of ours. His
book was written before doTerra and he mentions Gary Young alot. I was
wondereing if he had converted to doTerra. I guess he is really
    smart!!!

I just read where essential oils exposed to light will polymerize and
loose both their fragrance and their healing properties. What happens
to our oils when we transfer them into the clear roller bottles?

    Hi!

I was a part of the pilot program to test this out. I only bought 10
kits (limited finances) and only 12 people to 1 party. I had 10 people
show up and 8 people signed up with the family physicians kit. The
other two didn't have the money, but they still call me frequently for
products at this time. In fact one of the ladies that couldn't upgrade
has actually been sending all of her friends to see me!

This program has been such a huge success in my upline and now in my
    downline.

    Hope that helps.

4 of the people are dedicated to building the business after just
taking a look at that one party. It makes everything so easy!

    The promotion is this:

You buy 20 of our introduction kits and hand them out at parties as
and incentive to get people to attend. You teach the reinventing
healthcare tear sheet and go over all the oils included in the family
physicians kit. If they decide to upgrade to the kit not only do they
recieve the intro kit and physicans kit, but also $500 dollars of free
product training classes. They are posted on www.reinventingheathcareinfo.com/classes
and are only available in Utah at the moment (they are setting up to
take them across the country as well as have webinars on them). There
is also a 20/60 kit that they can upgrade to which includes the family
physicans kit and 20 intro kits of their own. With the purchase of the
20/60 kit ($525) they also recieve $250 of free business training (on
top of the product training). It is a really good deal and I know a
lot of people who get really excited to hear the word "free".

My daughter is 7 and has strep throat, at least I assume it is strep
because the back of her throat looks terrible!

I have been letting her suck on OnGaurd drops every 2-3 hours. She
gargles juice with one drop each of OnGuard, Lemon, and Oregano every
hour. I have also been putting one drop each of OnGuard and Oregano
mixed with FCO on the outside of her throat every 2-3 hours along
with one drop each on her feet.

Is this too much? It looks like it is getting better, but I don't
    want to be overloading her!

I seem to remember grapefruit reacting with a medication (not one of the
common BP ones, but something else). If you get a reaction, be safe and
discontinue that oil. I think this is obviously a reaction to the
chemical constituency of the grapefruit oil (or rind). We just have to
be aware of our bodies reactions and be careful.

Unfortunately, I don't remember it was mentioned on this list eons ago.
I remember looking it up but not much else, it was one I hadn't heard of
    before.

well the savings for me is pretty trivial since i only pay $4 a month...
but grapefruit is compounding for me so even if i went to every other day
it would make my levels dangerous on the days i do take it. i did far more
research into this than the average patient. as i was reluctant to go on
meds in the first place.. i started slim and sassy forgetting there was
grapefruit in it and also thinking that it was in it and such a small
amount shouldn't affect me. but commercially when they make grapefruit
juice they juice the whole fruit they don't peel it. so with that knowledge
you can't say for sure where the problem lies... grapefruits (and all
citrus to a lessor degree) have the ability to turn off an enzyme that
occurs in our stomachs ( CYP3A4 ) and this enzyme is solely responsible for
oxidation of certain medications.. most medications are oxidized in the
stomach and metabolized by 90% in the stomach so if this enzyme is turned
off 100% of the medication is hitting the blood stream.. instead of 10%
normally that is a HUGE increase. BUT the properties from the grapefruit
have to hit the stomach directly where this enzyme is produced in order to
turn it off... so if its not ingested it won't affect the medication..
another thing grapefruit does which also MY particular medication does is
inhibit the production of a protien in the intestines which is there to
help metabolize certain things including meds.. so with both those turned
off this increases the medication saturation in the body exponentially.

so that said, i started taking slim in sassy to help with cravings and
hunger. which worked but after about 2 weeks i couldn't figure out why i
was haivng such crazy ass symptoms and reactions... i thought something had
gone array with my medication. i was having horrible nightmares, insane
depression, my heart was slowing so much i was barely functioning.. and a
few others i can't remember now and was ready to call my doc freaking out
when i decided to stop all other vitamins and supplements. when i went to
grab my slim and sassy to drink, i stopped since i remembered no
supplements and looked at the label and then i remembered the grapefruit...
and smacked myself up side the head. the next day all my vitamins back,
switched to lemon to help cleanse my liver of the excess medication and
with in 2 days i was back to normal.. only thing changed was the slim and
    sassy..

i chose to end the slim and sassy since me being on this heart medicine is
supposed to be temporary anyway.. i just am finding other ways to lose
weight and control cravings and hunger.. thought about making my own slim
and sassy sans grapefruit though.. never did but if anyone tries it let me
    know..

my situation is only relevant to ME! so i am just sharing my knowledge and
experiences so as to show that its not all text book we are all different
individuals and in different situations.. yes i would love to be off this
medication and i will be one day but right now its necessary for me so as i
can see my young children grow up and have children of their own..

A friend's 83 year old grandmother had a round of the antibiotic
clindamyacin and has been experiencing severe colitis for several
months since. She has lost a lot of weight and nothing has helped. I
read on the board that Digestzen and Peppermint are great options.
Should she also take a round of GX Assist and maybe stay on the Pb
    Assist long term? Thank you!

Anyone experiencing a dryness or scaling of the skin after using
lavender? I ended up with kind of a white patch after using some on a
sore on my index finger. Also, when we applied lavender to a burn on
my neice's hand (a couple days old, and had already blistered), we
noticed a real drying of the sking around the outside edges almost
    immediately. Is this normal?

I have a friend who has struggled with kidney problems all her life,
it is especially bad during pregnancy. She has controlled the
infections, etc with the oils since her last pregnancy but is 14 weeks
along and is having trouble again. She like using cinnamon but the
book says to avoid during pregnancy, any guidance would be
    appreciated.

My 5mo. old baby girl has bad rashes on her cheeks, I've been putting
a drop of melaleuca in the lotion and using it on them and it works
great but always comes back and is especially worse today. I feel it
is candida and wondering the best way to go about this for her? She
is breast fed but I did just start her on a few home made organic
foods such as banana, sweet potato and avacado. Since the rash has
flared up I have stopped the solid food for a few days. I have
stopped dairy in all forms but just wondering what to do to help my
    baby? Any suggestions?
