Thank you for your answer Dawn.  The irony is that I am also a massage therapist, but I can only do so much due to the location and inaccessability to the tissue.  I will go to the website you shared and see if I can find someone nearby.  It seems the pain has gotten worse in the last 2 years or so.  Needing relief!  Again, thank you!

As a massage therapist myself, I cringe when I hear stories like this.  I'm so sorry that you have had to endure that level of pain and discomfort for 7 years.  Yes, scar tissue does affect the whole body because the fascia is like a blanket that covers the whole body.  Once there is a wrinkle in the blanket the rest of the blanket is trying to keep everything held together and aligned.  That wrinkle affects the fascia around it as well as any other organs and bones around it, the blood supply to those areas, and the lymph that is supposed to flow through those areas, too.  I have seen scar tissue affect a person's gait, affects posture (C section scars).  Scar tissue also affects us on the mental/emotional levels as well.

There are therapists trained to help with scar tissue release, but it is painful because you actually have to break down that scar tissue.  Scar tissue creates a lattice work or matrix of tissue and the body keeps building that tissue so scar tissue spreads around and down into the body.  Scar tissue will attach itself to veins, bone, internal organs and can cause pain and discomfort for the rest of your life if it isn't addressed.

I was trained in scar tissue release by a woman name Marjorie Brook who is renown for her expertise in scar tissue release.  I will put her website below and I suggest that you contact her and ask her more questions.  She may be able to suggest someone in your area that she has personally trained that may be able to help you.  She also travels all over the world teaching classes and you may find she may be in your area and could work on you personally herself.

Pat, I have another question about scar tissue.  About 6-7 years ago a massage therapist stuck her elbow in my glute and tore the muscle where it attaches to the bone.  The end of the tear 

rolled up and I have a wad of scar tissue about the size of a roll of nickles, and is deep below the skin.  It is very painful and affects my hip and even my neck, as it distorts the fascia.  Do you have any recommendations as to how to get rid of scar tissue of that size and depth?
