Re: [Everything doTERRA] regarding acid refulx

Thx Judith,
I know all those things are  bad for heartburn and reflux and of course, these  are all the things I love and eat . My DR said  that when I am ready to stop the pain I will eat better but know I need to do something to help heal or quit the burn now LOL. I do put it on my feet at night but will do it during the day now too until can afford the pills. Does it help you to do it during the day and how often do I need to reapply? Thanks so much for the info and take care now :)

Dear Angel Dream 4ever,

Acid reflux is made worse by certain foods: chocolate (relaxes lower esophageal sphincter), caffeine (ditto), coffee and tea, spicy foods, acidic foods (think tomatoes), food that cause one to belch (bell peppers, onions, beans, etc.), peppermint candy, and by drinking carbonated beverages (stretches the stomach).  If you cannot avoid these foods altogether, at least try to reduce/limit your intake.  By the way, peppermint essential oil, while good for digestive issues, seems to make my stomach burn if taken orally.

I don't much care for the smell of DigestZen, either, but putting it on my foot and covering it with a sock seems to help.

Hope this helps,
Judith
