Re: [Everything doTERRA] Hearing Loss in a Baby

Yes, I would be completely comfortable using helichrysum on a baby at that age. I have a 4 year old, 2 year old and 9 month old baby that have been my doTERRA guinea pigs for the last 4 years. ;)

Yes, massage it around the ears, never in the ear canal. If the baby starts to pull away at every application or cries after it's put on, then I would stop using the oil... but honestly, I can't imagine that happening with helichrysum. If my baby were to cut her mouth somehow, I wouldn't hesitate to put helichrysum on the spot. Not going to taste the best, but I don't worry about her ingesting it or the oil bringing internal harm.

Blessings,
Leah

Hi Leah,

Thank you for your reply I have been in touch with the mother today - and this is what her she told me in relation to your advice.

"No she didnt pass any hearing tests from birth. She does have some hearing just not what they screen for in hospital. We did that 13 times and she never even showed up as hearing anything on them."

So it is pre vaccine. How would you reccomend using the oil? Massaged around  / behind the ears? Are there any signs or side effects to watch out for? Would you say it is safe to use now at 4 months old or wait until she is a little older?

Thank you for your advice
