I had a bad itchy detox rash and Dr Hill recommended I use PB Assist and TerraZyme, he also suggested U stop all oils. I refused, I was doing Dimond club, I used them for everything and I felt they were part of the solution. It took months to fully resolve but I made huge strides each month. I know in my situation it was a detox rash as I'd had it before doterra as Id weaned off the last of my meds and I'd been dealing with it on and off for a long time. So mine took longer to heal.
My professor at Bastyr said that while we can't be directly allergic to essential oils they can bring on an allergic reaction. He said the reaction is psychosomatic do to exposure to a allergic reaction in our past at the same time we smelled this oil. Ie: funeral as a child with lots of roses: can't breath & feel great grief when smell rose as an adult. That does not make it any less real of a reaction. But it is helpful to understand there is an emotional link that needs to be cleared up while we avoid that oil.
I hope that info helps. Olive oil is great for the skin. He might want to make a balm to sooth his skin. Thick lipids are great for soothing and bringing down topical inflammation. DoTERRA has a balm carrier blend on their blog. Id muscle test what to add to it. We are all different as to what our body is needing. Sandalwood, Helichrysum & Frank were very helpful for me. Other times Mellisa, or Purify were the thing to keep it at bay tell my gut stabilized. Note when we are out of homeostasis we don't heal properly. Balance blend helps us get back in homeostasis but there are other techniques without oils as well.
Have a better week,
Heather
