We have had lots of rain lately so the weeds have sprung up on the neighboring wooded paths making hiking quite the adventure. Wished I had a machete. In PA, Lyme disease is skyrocketing and as doTERRA parent pleased to have found an awesome way to repel these disease carriers. My family and I applied the bug spray blend (10 drops each - terrashield, purify and peppermint with 4oz distilled water in a trigger spray glass bottle). We walked through the high grass brushing up against everything and crunching the dead leaves where the ticks eggs like to live, we walked along matted deer paths and hours later we came home unbothered.
Another time my youngest daughter had a nymph on her and we used FCO around where it was embedded then applied a drop of oregano. It killed the sucker. I followed up with purify for a few days to be safe.
Now we also have lots of poison ivy here and I have to tell you at the very first itch of the poison ivy reaction I put lavender on and it dried it up immediately. There were some spots I missed and then went back to it using lavender and it kept itch down and is also drying it up but I have to attack it more frequently.
Another person I know swears by Balance since there is an imbalance in the body so correcting it will help get rid of poison ivy.
