I'm not really sure what happens. But I'll give you an example. We have one in the office. On Monday, we'll put in about 15 - 20 drops of whatever we are in the mood for that day. Then do the same thing everyday. On Friday afternoon, well have a burnt yellow/orange looking watery liquid, but just a few drops worth. We dump that on the trash and start over on Monday. I don't believe the machine's instructions tell you to dilute with water. Some people complain that you use too much oil with that diffuser but I've never found that to be the case. I use way more oil in my petal diffuser when I run it at home. My next diffuser is going to be an Ace.
